CM Sri A. Revanth Reddy & Minister Sri D. Sridhar Babu Inaugurate BioAsia 2025 at HICC, Hyderabad.

BioAsia has positioned Hyderabad as the world’s life sciences capital, attracting professionals and industry leaders from across the country and the globe. The conference serves as a guiding force, shaping the future trajectory of the healthcare sector.

Many world-renowned pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, and biotech companies operate from Hyderabad. The State Government has been working with a vision to promote research and innovation institutions, making long-term investments in higher education. This has resulted in the emergence of a vast talent pool of scientists, technologists, and engineers. The establishment of Genome Valley is a testament to this commitment.

The government has set an ambitious goal of making Telangana a $1 trillion economy within the next 10 years. Special priority is being given to the services sector in the Hyderabad Core Urban City Area. Large-scale infrastructure projects such as Future City and AI City are underway to drive this transformation.

Hyderabad is also emerging as India’s electric vehicle capital, recording the highest EV sales in the country. Plans are in place to introduce 3,000 electric buses into TSRTC’s fleet soon.

The government is developing a manufacturing hub between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the Regional Ring Road (RRR), making it one of the largest manufacturing centers in the world. This hub is strategically positioned to align with the China Plus One strategy, and Telangana welcomes global investors to take advantage of the state’s favorable industrial environment.

To enhance connectivity, radial roads will link the ORR and RRR, with industrial clusters planned along both sides.

As Telangana is a landlocked state, the government has envisioned a Mega Dry Port and is enhancing special rail and road transport networks to improve access to seaports in Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad is being developed into the world’s leading ecosystem for biosciences, biotech, and life sciences. The city is set to become a global hub for innovation, R&D, manufacturing, and skill development. The US-based Amgen has expanded its operations in Hyderabad, reflecting the government’s unwavering commitment to the life sciences sector.

The Telangana government extends an open invitation to global companies to leverage the state’s advantages, streamlined industrial policies, and world-class infrastructure. Telangana ranks #1 in India for attracting both domestic and international investments, with the lowest inflation and highest job creation rate.

At the recently held World Economic Forum in Davos, Telangana secured ₹1.80 lakh crore in investments, creating nearly 50,000 new jobs across various sectors. In the life sciences sector alone, the state attracted over **₹40,000 crore in investments last year, spread across more than 150 projects.

Additionally, Pharma Villages are being developed between the ORR and RRR, with an expectation of generating over five lakh new jobs. The Green Pharma City initiative, a key component of the Future City project, is progressing rapidly, with major pharmaceutical companies signing MoUs with the Telangana government.

The German company Milten Biotech has launched its cell and gene therapy operations in Genome Valley, while four more multinational companies are set to join Telangana’s life sciences ecosystem.

Over the past 25 years, Hyderabad has established itself as a pharma manufacturing, IT, and digital health powerhouse. The government successfully hosted the AI Healthcare Summit last year, further cementing the city’s reputation as a leader in healthcare technology.

Congratulations and a warm welcome to all BioAsia 2025 delegates from around the world. We hope this conference provides a platform for growth, collaboration, and innovation.

A special congratulations to Professor Patrick Tan, this year’s recipient of the Genome Valley Excellence Award!
