Telangana won five Green Apple Awards

Telangana won five ‘Green Apple Awards’ for ‘International Beautiful Buildings’ from London-based independent non-profit ‘The Green Organization’. Telangana’s outstanding achievements in building design and restoration are recognized with awards for the Yadagirigutta Temple, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat Building, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, Integrated Command Control Centre, and Mozam Jahi Market. Sri Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, received the awards in London on 16 June, 2023.

The T-Hub Foundation was conferred with the Technology Business Incubator award (Category E) for its ‘outstanding contribution in techno-entrepreneurship development by way of promoting innovative, technology-driven knowledge-intensive startup enterprises in different areas’. The award was presented as part of the National Technology Week 2023 on 14th May 2023.

Government of Telangana’s project Smart Nutrient Management of Soil has won the Gold Icon Award at the Digital India Awards 2022 in the category “Digital Initiatives in collaboration with Start-ups”. This category has been introduced in the Digital India Awards for the 1st time. The award was conferred by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on 07th January 2023. Smt. L. Rama Devi, Director of Emerging Technologies Wing, received the award on behalf of the ITE&C Department and Agriculture Department, Government of Telangana.

Telangana bags two awards in maternity health segment

Telangana has been adjudged as best performing state in Midwifery and emerged second in best performing states in High Risk Pregnancy Identification awards in the National Maternal Health workshop, organised by Maternal Health division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) in New Delhi. The awards were presented by the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar to Joint Director (Maternal Health) Telangana, Dr S Padmaja.

Telangana’s Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Dept., has been conferred with the Green Champion Award by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The award was presented under the category ‘IGBC State Government encouraging green building movement in India through a multi-pronged approach.’ Sri Sudarshan Reddy, Secretary, MA&UD Department, and other officials received the award at HICC, Hyderabad on 21st October 2022.

Hyderabad bagged prestigious 'World Green City Award - 2022'

International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) has adjudged Hyderabad City as the Grand Winner of the World Green City Awards – 2022. The award was given to the Telangana Government’s massive green initiative – “Telangana Ku Haritha Haram.” The program envisages increasing the tree coverage of the State from 24% to 33% of the total geographical area of the State. AIPH has also chosen Hyderabad for ‘Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth’ Award.

16 civic bodies in Telangana received the prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2022 awards under South Zone. Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu presented the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022 at a function held in New Delhi on 1st October 2022. Swachh Survekshan is a yearly survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India, instituted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

441 government hospitals in Telangana receive Kayakalp awards

441 government hospitals in Telangana qualified for Kayakalp awards for the financial year 2021-22. Of the 441 health facilities, 12 are district hospitals, eight are Area Hospitals, nine are Community Health Centres, 225 are Primary Health Centres, 73 are Urban Primary Health Centres, and 114 Health and Wellness Centres.

Telangana wins 19 National Panchayat awards under various categories


The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has conferred awards to 19 Panchayats in Telangana. The awards were bagged under four categories which are Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar, Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award, Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar.

3 Telangana districts bag awards for reducing TB


Three Telangana districts won awards for achieving progress in the elimination of Tuberculosis (TB). Nizamabad won the Silver award, Bhadrachalam and Khammam won bronze. Telangana bags awards in ‘Health and Fit Nation’ campaign of MOHFW


Telangana secured first place in the country for conducting wellness activities and emerged second for conducting screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) at sub-centre level during the ‘Health and Fit Nation’ campaign, which was organized by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW). The two awards under the category ‘Health and Fit Nation’ were handed over to State health authorities by the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day-2021 function held in New Delhi on 13th December 2021.

Telangana had a rich haul of 12 awards in the National Panchayat Awards 2021 (Appraisal year 2019-20) announced by the Union Panchayat Raj Ministry. As many as nine Gram Panchayats, two Mandal parishads, and one Zilla Parishad have bagged awards in different categories in the Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar 2021.

Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA) has been presented with the India Seed Award as the best seed certification Authority in the country by the Agriculture Today Group. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award from New Delhi through virtual conference on 21st November 2020. National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) Chief Executive Officer Ashok Dalwai and other officials were also present. TSSOCA Managing Director K Keshavulu received the award.

Kollur housing project bags HUDCO award


Telangana Government’s double bedroom housing project got yet another national recongintion with the Kollur project bagging the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) award. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking up a huge project of constructing 15,660 double bedroom houses at Kollur at a cost of Rs.1,408 crore. The project bagged HUDCO award for Best Practices 2019-20 under Housing, Urban Poverty and Infrastructure theme.

Ms. Rama Devi Lanka, Director, Emerging Technologies received the Award from Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Sri Jitendra Singh during the 23rd edition of the Conference on 8th February, 2020 in Mumbai.

The Health Department of the State government has received ‘CSI Nihilent e-Governance Awards-2017’ for adopting technology to extend health care services in State-run health institutions and various schemes in the State. The authorities succeeded in applying technology in KCR Kits scheme, Mother and Child Tracking System (MCTS), National Health Mission (NHM) payroll automation through Aadhaar, e-Hospitals and many more. Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Karuna Vakati and other senior health officials received the Computer Society of India’s (CSI) Nihilent e-Governance (CNeG) Award from Finance Minister of West Bengal, Amit Mitra and Deputy Speaker, Rajasthan in a function held recently in Kolkata.

Command Control Centre in Civil Supplies is a one-of-its-kind established in the country. Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), which has won the ‘Order of Merit’ award-2017 by Skoch, has also bagged the ‘Skoch Gold’ award for being voted as the best city among the 123 cities that were selected for different category Skoch awards. Mayor Nannapuneni Narender received the award at Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. It may be noted here that the Gurgaon-based Skoch Group, an independent assessor of States, has been giving away awards to encourage top-performing government bodies and organizations working to eliminate open defecation, enhancing sanitation and public health. The Warangal city has recently won the Best Heritage City award and ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ award too.

Commissioner, Hyderabad Police received the Award from Union Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Sri PP Chowdary at the National Conference on e-Governance held on January 9 & 10, 2017 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Hawk Eye App was the only eGov initiative from a Police Department out of all the 20 Awardees selected under 12 categories.
